Finger Lakes Region Gas Lease Mapping Report

The Finger Lakes Region Gas Lease Mapping Project is a snapshot in time. Leases reflected in the report were filed between 2005-2010. The Finger Lakes Region is defined by eleven parallel glacial-cut lakes and is known as New York's Wine and Bread Basket. The Finger Lakes supply drinking water to 1.5 million people, are home to award-winning wineries, and support diverse agricultural products. The report highlights how these existing uses would be impacted by industrial gas drilling.
